A little help from my mother

I’m officially done with my M.B.A program and I can now get back to some of the things I enjoy the most such as SEWING and DESIGNING.  The month of April was hectic and I had to recruit my mom to sew a few dresses for me.

This is the first dress out of two I had my mother make.  Before I start talking about how much I love this dress, let me tell you how busy last week was; I had to attend three days of presentations at school after a full 8+hrs of work, then on the last day of presentations I drove 1.5 hours to Beaumont to run in the Biggest Loser Half Marathon Race Series Saturday morning, then immediately afterwards cleaned up, and drove back to Houston for the derby party.  WHEW….

My dear friend Lisah invited me to her annual Our Girls Kentucky Derby watch Party at Sam Houston Race Track.

The pattern used is from Butterick’s Retro collection.  She lined the entire dress as well with a nude lining.  The dress fit to a T!

My graduation is in one week, on Mother's Day so you know what I told my mom her gift is.
