Double Cowl Dress
Dress: DIY

Dress: DIY

Knit can be a wonderful fabric to work with.  It’s defiantly my go to for when I want to make  unique and fun dresses.

The front has a mid cowl and I went with the low-back cowl for the back of bodice.

A facing was also added to both cowls.

The pattern used for this was McCalls 6355, option B.  The top half of the dress pattern was used for making the cowls.  I added the elastic for 2 reason; fashion and purpose.  Besides, hot pink and grey is a great color combination.  The dress needed additional support since having both cowls made the top half quite loose. I could have added a tie in the back but the wide band elastic was the better option, at least style wise.

The elastic was added to the high back portion of the back.  Stitch both bodice then add to the bottom portion of the dress.  The dress was contoured at the sides and pegged 2.5" at the bottom
